My name is Roderick MacIver. I've been a fulltime artist and author for thirty years. I moved to Hilton Head from Vermont in early November 2024, and opened the gallery in December 2024.

I founded Heron Dance in 1995 as a newsletter. It grew into a full color art journal published four times a year, and a publisher of books. Over the years I've published fourteen books of my own and several of others.

These days, I just publish my own work. At one time, Heron Dance had thirteen employees and fifty thousand subscribers. It is now just me, solo artist and his dog Ada. Ada is very gentle, though a little bit of a princess. Photo below.

That's me on the left thirty-odd years ago. I was, at one time, way into wilderness canoeing and backpacking. Now I'm into long walks in the Vermont and Algonquin woods and on the beach in Hilton Head.
